Data problem
Dnata is the leading provider of inflight services to the world’s airline customers. They offer a comprehensive range of inflight catering, onboard retail and logistics services across all the UK’s major and regional airports.
Before Data Clarity, Dnata were using a distributed system to handle their report building and management systems. This meant configurations had to be made on a computer by computer basis, which wasted time and money. They needed a solution that could:
- Centralise the main system configuration.
- Centralise the main report writing and viewing facilities.
- Improve the speed and simplicity of queries to provide better management information.
- Be accessed by all users with ease.
Data solution
Dnata were already using a WMS system developed by Data Clarity, so they decided to use our ClarityQB solution.
This was an instant success, as it was designed to have a similar interface to what employees were used to, and used familiar syntax.
Data Clarity also worked closely with Dnata to train staff to use our solution smoothly, making sure everything was easy to understand and that the staff of Dnata were happy.
Overall benefits
After a small amount of training from Data Clarity, we were up and running in no time. We have been using ClarityQB for the last 6 years now and will continue to for the foreseeable future. The main benefit of using Data Clarity’s services is that we can connect to multiple data sources (Oracle/ Informix/ SQL/ Access databases, excel files, csv’s flat text files etc.) with ease.
