Data Clarity Host Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Wednesday 26th September, Data Clarity came together to host a Macmillan Coffee Morning at their Derby office and helped raise over £100 for people living with cancer.

Bringing millions of people together for coffee and cake each September, Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has become a British institution over the years – with thousands of events happening up and down the country, including Derby.

Employees at Data Clarity each contributed a baked item to the coffee morning along with a monetary donation. Delicacies ranged from indulgent chocolate and lemon drizzle cakes to delicious savoury samosas. Friends and family were also invited to attend the event to sample the delights that were on offer.  

Speaking after the event, Louise Norman (HR Manager & Business Partner) said:

“We decided to host an event in aid of Macmillan because ultimately every person employed at Data Clarity knows someone who has dealt with or is dealing with cancer. The service Macmillan provides is crucial in today’s society. Data Clarity is proud to assist raising money for this very worthy cause.”

The star baker of the day was Co-founder and Chief Development Officer, Pana Lepeniotis whose Ferrero Rocher chocolate cake won the greatest number of votes. The indulgent cake was layered with a combination of milk and dark chocolate and decorated with gold dust and Ferrero Rocher’s.

About Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising event

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. We ask people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. Last year alone Macmillan raised over £27 million and together we can make this another successful year.

The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, we did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan.
