The term search engine optimization can cause confusion and angst.
You know it is important, however you don’t necessarily know the ins and outs, which leaves you feeling wary to say the least.
What is SEO?
According to leading SEO website Search Engine Land;
‘SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” search results on search engines.’
You will have heard of Google, Bing and Yahoo. These are amongst the most popular in the world and are used by billions. They all have their own algorithm which returns your search query back to you with the most relevant results. When you enter a keyword (a word that is relevant to what you are searching for) into a search engine and press search it brings up the closest, most relevant match the algorithm can find, it’s pretty awesome when you think about it.
