As finalists in the ‘Best Expense System’ award, we were honoured to attend this year’s prestigious Payroll Awards.
This was the first industry event we have attended since the launch of our cloud-based software Clarity365 and took place at the luxurious Tower Hotel, London.
The night began with the collection of our finalist certificate upon arrival, followed by a drinks reception sponsored by Equiniti. We were then seated with a fantastic view of London’s famous Tower Bridge on a table with the lovely Sopra Steria team. The night started with a welcome speech from Payroll World’s Managing Director, Chris Fitzgerald and included an introduction from chosen charity ‘The Children’s Trust’ for children with brain injuries. The host for the evening was comedian and freestyle rapper Chris Turner who provided great entertainment with his comedy and superbly improvised raps. Along with British announcer Alan Dedicoat also known as the “Voice of the Balls” on the National Lottery.
The menu was delicious and consisted of a duo of duck with butternut squash tapenade followed by chargrilled rump of lamp with mint and citrus quinoa. The dessert was a citrus plate which included a lime cheesecake and blood orange sorbet.
Following the meal there was the much anticipated awards. Unfortunately our software Clarity365 did not win the award, however we were extremely pleased to have been a finalist. £6,500 was raised for ‘The Children’s Trust‘ which will go to help children who have suffered a brain injury.
Throughout the night there was a variety of entertainment including magic and mind reading from Spencer Wood who wowed us. There was also a historian, photo booth and salsa dancers. Over 600 industry professionals attended the Payroll World Awards, congratulations to all of the winners, we hope to see you again next year!
